yellow transitioning to black by using white for tinting, grey for toning and black for shading

thick lines at the edges moving to thinner lines in the center

never intended to use anything but yellow – white – grey – black

used white to produce grey (mixed with black), but also to increase the opaque quality of the yellow paint

ran out of mixed paint gradations & had to introduce another color to finish the painting
